What is love
That stirs the passion
Deepest in the heart?
Is it that
Which gives a thrill?
A complex body part?
Nay, 'tis something deeper:
Familiarity
And friendship that's grown sweeter
And sweet sincerity
A bonding of the souls within
That raises cacoethes
Blending caring and desire
Creates willing coryanthes
Then a passionate embrace
Is filled with depth and meaning
Not just erudite desire
Which often is demeaning
May you look for truthful love
Not lust that undermines
And may you find it in your heart
