I joke and laugh to keep from crying
I try to smile to keep from dying
It doesn't work, though. I'm still blue
Over the haunting absence of you
I feel you stronger now than ever
Guess I wasn't very clever
Thought I could move on, forget
But it just leads to more regret
I'm here missing you
I'm lonely and blue
I've held you in my heart
From he very start
The jasmine scent is strong
And though I've done things wrong
I hope that you'll forgive
One day so we'll live
Being loving friends
'Cause I'll love you to the end
Don't care what others say
They're only in the way
Of what both our hearts know
And the love to you I'd show

Poem for a Queen

Tantalizing hair of fiery red
Lips like pomegranate
Cheekbones high and noble
Brilliant mind of mystery
Sorrows few understand
Longing desire encroaches
Calling out to thy soul
Fearfully seeking deliverance
From chains and sorrows deep
Struggling against the darkness
To find the inner light
One steps forth to guide you
Will you take his hand?
Will you affirm your inner self,
Or will you turn away?
Consider your choices wisely
For who knows what tomorrow brings?
