Charlie Kirk’s Death
Charlie Kirk’s Death
On September 10, 2025, the day before 9/11, we lost a great American, Charlie Kirk. He was removed by an assassin’s bullet as easily as you might sip a cup of tea. i slept through most of 9/11 because I was up well past sunrise trying to find more information on his killer that never came.
Whatever you think of Charlie Kirk, he was a devoted father and devoted American. He went from college campus to college campus to promote what, in most of our lives, was the values we grew up with and held dear. He was doing the work that many of us should have been doing while we were young and vibrant. He had more than probably most of us had to lose. He had a beautiful wife, two beautiful kids, and a beautiful home in which to raise them. He embodied the values of America and the values of Christ, even unto death, as we all should do if we’re not sniveling cowards. He embodied truth, justice, and yes, the American way.
As we go on about our lives remembering Charlie, let us try to go forth embodying the values of Jesus and the values that all Americans held dear for the last almost 250 years. Let us speak boldly, as Charlie did, to stand up for America’s Christian values, for if not, our values will be removed as easily as that bullet took Charlie Kirk’s life. We might falter and fall sometimes when pitted against overwhelming odds but we MUST get back up again. If not, we are no better than the assassin who shot him.
1 Corinthians 3:9
New International Version
9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
