Untitled Poem

I think I must have written this poem for my late wife.  It was in one of my work log books.  Year unknown but it had to be several years before 2001.

Untitled Poem (For Diane?)
by Cal Jennings

Come and let me feel the warmth of your touch.
Come and feel my gentle caress.
Sit with me on the beach by a campfire on a moonlit night.
Let us hear the gentle, steady motion of the waves and watch the moonlight dance upon the waters.
We shall sing songs of love and hope as the salt air fills our luugs.
You shall come into my arms and our lips will touch, bringing a rise of passion from deep within.
Our souls shall unite as the firelight flickers on our bodies entwined, burning with heated desire.
We want to resist at first, but we know the desire is much too strong.
The love and trust of centuries waiting has endured and this is our moment. We must be filled.
Our bodies become electric as we slowly, sensuously undress one another.
The energy and beauty of the universe fill us as we kiss, first softly, then hard and passionately.
As our warm, tender bodies touch, the universe is filled with love.
Your body trembles as my warm, moist tongue traces around the edges of your passion flower, teasing you, pleasing you.
Then, at last, at long last, my tongue finds its mark filling you with pleasures unknown.
Building and building, the desire overwhelms you and you pull my body up to yours.
You reach down and hold my warm manhood in your hand.
You feel me throbbing, pulsating.
You are wet with desire.
You can wait no longer.
Guiding me, you allow me inside... slowly at first, pausing to feel the warmth, then back out.
Slowly deeper each time.
Deeper now, so that I fill you entirely, holding still to let our souls acquaint.
Our souls become one.
They run together like mountain streams into a river of passion and love.
Peace fills our bodies as our rhythm rivals the waves.
On and on, our temperature rising, and then we burst through the stars.
The universe surrounds us, spinning, twirling, setting us back down on the warm sand by the glowing embers of the fire.
We lie together, hugging, touching, feeling.
We lay on our backs, your head on my shoulder: My arm around your shoulder.
We watch the stars twinkle and the moonlight glistening on the wings of seagulls gliding over the water.
We discuss our lives, our hopes, and our dreams – for ourselves and the world.

P.S.  The poem must have worked because this incident ended up occurring.  Too ad there isn't a date on it in the log book.

A Lost Flame - Poem

A Lost Flame

A candle,
Once moving
Now still
A life,
Once lived
Now lost
Burning moments
Dancing like the flame of a candle
Now frozen in time
In my heart
And in my mind
Perhaps she dances
On rays of moonlight
Perhaps she tangos
With the stars
May she find
All that she sought
All that she dreamed of
All that she cared for
In the stillness
Of the flame

Empty Christmas

Empty Christmas

Suppressing emotion
Trying not to feel
Replacing love with logic
Dressing myself like game
Peeling away the flesh
Throwing out the intestines
Boiling out the marrow
Leaving nothing but dried bones
Painting on a Christmas smile
So as not to disappoint the children
Gesturing while singing
To mimic Christmas joy
No more longing
Or even caring
Still plodding forward
With what I need to do

Be Not Ashamed - Poem

Be Not Ashamed

Be not ashamed
Of who you are
Let your light shine
Both near and far

Revealing the truth,
Though hard at first,
Drives out the demons
You thought were the worst

Proclaim to the world
The uniqueness of you
You're a creature of God
Your life He'll renew

Have You Ever Really Loved Somebody? (Poem)

Have You Ever Really Loved Somebody?

Have you ever really loved somebody
So strongly that you felt their heartbeat inside your own
So deeply that their well-being was more important than your own existence
So passionately that it encompassed every atom of your being
So fervently that no matter what transpired, you can't deny to yourself that the love remains?
Love like that, in spite of pain and grief, never dies
You might be able to lie to others about it
You might be able to lie to yourself... for awhile
Even when hope no longer exists
Love still resides

Misery

The phrase/word: pleasure
--------------------------------------------------------------

Photobucket

What is it?

Here is the riddle:
It' often sought, but rarely found
Some things delight temporarily
But most often
What we get fades quickly
And sends us searching once again
It's not something external
Or based on temporary satisfaction
Or passionate stimulation
But something that brings
Pleasure for the rest of our lives
So, here is the riddle
What is it?

Poem to Re-Write Into a Song (original)

I joke and laugh to keep from crying
I try to smile to keep from dying
It doesn't work, though. I'm still blue
Over the haunting absence of you
I feel you stronger now than ever
Guess I wasn't very clever
Thought I could move on, forget
But it just leads to more regret
I'm here missing you
I'm lonely and blue
I've held you in my heart
From he very start
The jasmine scent is strong
And though I've done things wrong
I hope that you'll forgive
One day so we'll live
Being loving friends
'Cause I'll love you to the end
Don't care what others say
They're only in the way
Of what both our hearts know
And the love to you I'd show

This Home

It's fortress of solitude

A place for quiet interlude

It's nice and warm and keeps me dry

A modest place, but I'll get by

I like this home that shelters me

It's as peaceful as can be

It's a great place to recharge

When the world does seem too large

It houses all the things I need

Its land does grow things to me feed

It's a place with birds and squirrels

Where inspiration grows, unfurls

Although this home is missing love

I get what I need from above

Although it stores the memory

Of true love that's abandoned me

When it all is said and done

This home is just a house

Fateful Love - Poem

Fateful Love

I once had a love so dear

That I felt her heartbeat

But because of foolish fears

We never were complete

I felt compassion for her fear

And felt her every pain

It ached my heart that she feared me

Because she was insane

I tried to put her fears to rest

But she chose to believe

The visions that her shattered mind

Portrayed for to deceive

I often wonder where she went

And what became of her

When cancer came into her life

I may never be sure

Although sometimes I feel a tug

From what my be her spirit

I may never hear her voice

Although I'd like to hear it

I wish she'd kept her promises

Of updates on condition

Or told someone to give me word

Of death for recognition

Since our fateful meeting

More that two long years have passed

And though I loved with all my heart

My hopes and dreams were dashed

The Song Remains the Same

The seasons may change

But the song remains the same

Promises of love

Fluttering of hearts

Deep-felt passion

Erotic ecstasy

Then the betrayal by friends and lovers

Sometimes I Wish

Sometimes I Wish

Sometimes I wish
My life would end
That time would stop
That I'd never been born
I wouldn't want to wake up from a nightmare
For I'd probably have to re-live it
Or worse
Or have more nightmares
I'm tired

The Chambers of My Heart - Poem

The Chambers of My Heart

I once knew love intimately

It coursed through my veins

Stimulating every fiber

Every neuron

It connected me to

The stars and planets

And every intricacy of

The Universe

Then, the chambers doors of my heart

Slammed shut

The flow stopped

My vision grew dim

The melody ceased tickling my ears

I raged against the dying of the light

But to no avail

In my anger

I tightly closed all the valves to my heart

Allowing fierce pressure to build

Into a coal black steam

Cracks ran down my heart

Like fingers stretching

I could hold back no more

I lashed out with anger and rage

Eyes glowing like molten metal

Releasing the kilotons of blackness

Into the air

The weak scurried

The strong turned their eyes

Until the pressure equalized

I now have a valve cracked

To my heart

If you can seep in

If you can fill the chambers

The cracks may begin to heal

And restore the beauty

That once was my heart

The Child Within - United Friends Challenge #60

UNITED FRIENDS CHALLENGE #60

Mysticalmistress' Challenge

write about the child within each of us.

The Child Within

In each of us a small child lives

Wide eyed and full of wonder

Seeing things we cannot see

That adults put asunder

Sometimes children, though, do have

Unre-a-listic fears

Of things that they don't understand

And this brings them to tears

Sometimes they're cruel to other folks

Because of some silly pride

Even the shadows they sometimes fear

So they will just run and hide

When the child who's deep inside

brings out your pride and fears

Reach deep inside with loving arms

And wipe away childish tears

Let the child know that you're an adult

And you'll keep it safe and warm

And that you're now strong and will protect

The child from any harm

Once you've done this and done it well

Very soon you will see

The wide-eyed world of wonder

That was meant for you and me

I Almost Told You That I Loved You

How can I give you my heart
When it belongs to another
It doesn't matter what you say or do
I love one and no other

Until she draws her final breath
I never will be free
So what do you expect to see
I always have to be me

I almost fell into your trap
But then away I turned
Because I have experience
Of many lessons learned

So play your games and break more hearts
If, for you, that's a must
But know that I will never fall
For pointless, evil lust

I almost told you that I love you
But it would be a lie
I'll never love another
Until my love does die

In The Autumn Of My Life

In the Autumn of my life
She came to me
Like a bolt of lightning
Saturating my being
Touching my heart, body, and soul from afar
My Autumn turned to Spring
Music filled my spirit
A proposal was made and accepted
In the midst of grueling circumstances
My life was better than I ever thought possible
Then she betrayed me
Burning me like the scorching Summer sun
Sweat of tears filled my eyes and heart
She returned, abused and broken
My love had not diminished
I accepted her with open arms
Tried to help her recover
Her troubled mind couldn't understand the truth
Almost trusting, she suddenly turned away
Lying and leaving again
The chill of the wind turned my life to Autumn
Then came the news of the illness
One from which few recover
She informed me, made empty promises, and departed
The freezing wind chilled me to the bone
My life became Winter
In the Autumn of my life

The Man In the Mirror - UNITED FRIENDS CHALLENGE #118

Rjamp's Challenge

Write a short story or poem on your inner weakness (or inner demons). Using this statment to start it...
I look in the mirror and I see ....

The Man In the Mirror

When I was young
I took a look
And what there did I see?

I saw things that
I didn't like
Some things inside of me

I then resolved
To make things right
To change from the inside

Now I'm always
Who I am
And never need to hide

If you don't like
The man you see
When you look at me

Perhaps you need
To take a look
At what's inside of thee

For when I gaze
In silvered glass
I'm pleased at what I see

For now the man
I truly am
Is staring back at me

The Purest Gold

Purified by fire seven times
Every impurity seared from within
Leaving only the purest of gold
Shining more brightly than the sun
Goodness and mercy endure
Leaving only purest
Love

The phrase/word: appreciate and adore

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Kind of People

There's a type of people that I

Appreciate and adore

Those who are unselflesh givers

Who are honest to the core

I'm not that fond of those who run

And hide and lie too often

How can you depend upon those

Who will always need a crutch?

Those who do lend a helping hand

Without false expectaions

Are the ones who will receive my

Heartfelt congratulations

This type of person's hard to find

But when they're found, you will see

Just how much this type of person

Really means so much to me

Mindless Masses - poem

Mindless Masses

Mindless masses

Fired up for a cause

The one cause for which they can unite

The harm of others

'Tis a web of bitter grief they weave

For themselves and for others

Should one bestow

And act of kindness

To one with whom they disagree

They deal out shame

And grief

And ridicule

And death

The final blow of death they deal

Will be their own

For they would not heed wisdom

They would not heed mercy

They would not heed peace

They would not heed kindness

They would not heed love

The universe shall collapse around them

Their punishment, they shall not escape

Their black hearts

Sucking away their very souls

Extinguishing any light

They may have once possessed

Weep for them not

For they shall receive their just reward
