Ancient Technology Disproves “Bronze Age goat hearders” Wrote the Bible

Ancient Technology Disproves “Bronze Age goat hearders” Wrote the Bible

Good evening.  I'm Elder Cal Jennings.  Find us posted on Sundays and studies on Wednesday. Our locations are online only:
Rev. Laura’s Other Sites: Facebook & Twitter & Google+ & Blogspot
Our Main Video Feed: Covenant_of_Hope
We have email (instant messenger if you need me) through Facebook every day. These are now extremely variable. We’re still working this out between the two of us as to what will happen, our Elder, Cal Jennings and I. I will inform you further regarding changes. These changes were made due to health reasons. The sermon length has shortened dramatically. We are unsure as to when there might be video presentations.

Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list has grown from last week. This is our current prayer list for this week.
- Please keep a friend, Debby, in your prayers for a swift recovery after major cancer surgery.
- Continue your prayers for Phoebe Fair’s family as they continue to grieve her loss.
- Please keep Elder Cal Jennings in your prayers as his health doesn’t know where it wants to be.
- Please pray for my friend Teresa’s sister who is in stage four cancer. Keep Teresa and her daughter in prayer for many other things that have been weighing down on their hearts, minds, and spirits.
- Please keep others known by any of us up in prayer for whatever they might need.
- Please keep my friend Heather in prayer for patience and safe haven.
- Let us keep those who have suffered from the weather in prayer, as they continue to weather the storms, the cold, and the dangers that can be found within them.
- Please keep my whole family in prayer for the pain, suffering, and chaos we are going through.
- Pray that the adversity and the pain we have seen around the world would be relieved, and swept away. May we find common ground in many ways, even if we start with just one step.
- Remember those who have been lost either violently or peacefully this week.
- Keep the ministry in your thoughts, each member, no matter their location, their circumstances, because a group of friends, a ministry, should support one another.
- There are many in our ministry who are searching for more in regard to our presence with my health, and with the health of others. We pray that there would be health found once more, and that we have answers to all and for all.

God Will Take Care of You - Hymn

There are many who are saying that the bible was written by illiterate goat hearders. I found some proof that they weren't as stupid in that era as some think. In fact, before that area some time in the B.C. Range, an analog computer to calculate the movement of the sun, moon, and stars was discovered. The device is called the Antikythera mechanism. You may find links to it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NAMA_Machine_d%27Anticyth%C3%A8re_1.jpg and here for an educational paper on it http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/rrice/usna_pap.html. Here is a picture of the device that was found.

Here is the back.

After it was x-rayed, someone made a reproduction of the device.

Here is a video of a reconstructed device in action.

Such an analog computer was not created by unlearned men. If these were in the 80 B.C. Era to earlier, what did they have in the time of Jesus? I'm sure that technology progressed through the years just as it does now. One atheist website states, “The Bible is a collection of fairytales written by illiterate goat herders back in the Bronze Age.” In an interview with an atheist, the atheist states that the bible was written by, “Bronze Age goat herders.” Both of these statements are ridiculous. First, if they were illiterate they would not be able to read or write so how could illiterate people write the bible? Second, the bronze age ended far earlier. The Iron Age was from 1200 - 550 B.C.E. These foolish statements made by atheists to try to discredit the bible are completely inaccurate. Still, many very educated and intelligent atheists still use these phrases. Being as educated and intelligent as they are you would think that they would realize that these statements were inaccurate so why do they continue to use them?

Psalm 14:1

King James Version (KJV)
14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

While the device also has markings for astrology, which the bible is clearly against, the workings are marvelous craftsmanship. Too little credit was given to the people of that era. This is only one relic discovered, probably because the materials of which it was made were designed for voyages across the sea. A bronze/tin alloy was used to prevent corrosion from the salt air and water. Other ancient devices designed for land use would likely have rusted away by now. There is some possible evidence of a fossilized geared machine dated at 400 million years ago.

Some claim that these are chrinoid folssils; however, their claim is just as much speculation as the speculation that this is a computer or timepiece. In this piece, the author shows some similar chrinoid fossils but they do not have the edges that appear to be gears nor are they as perfectly round with the raised center. While it is possible that the claim is so, it is not definite. Still, the Antikythera mechanism proves that the ancients were capable of technology much greater than they have been given credit for. Atheists think themselves wise in the ways of the world and consider Christians... or anyone else who has a religious belief... fools. Perhaps if they would become “fools” they would become more wise?

1 Corinthians 3:18

King James Version (KJV)
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

There is even some evidence of the ancients having a form of electricity. The Baghdad Battery for instance, has been recreated and used with lemon juice to produce up to 2 volts of electricity. In series, they could create higher voltage. Some speculate that they couldn't have been batteries because there is no wiring or insulation found near them. Others say that parts of the batteries may have eroded or corroded away. Some speculate that there may have been thin copper strips used as wiring, possibly covered by papyrus as an insulator that may have corroded and deteriorated existence. There are also other theories on materials that may have been used to seal the batteries. Here is one article from BBC News.

Although we like to think of ourselves as much more advanced than the ancients, there are plenty of mysteries that indicate otherwise. We don't really know what the batteries were used for. Whether it be electroplating or some other use, it's still an amazing discovery. Also, what of the huge, perfectly carved stones placed so closely together that a piece of paper can't fit between them? I doubt that they were created by aliens as some believe but think it more likely that it was human technology of which we are not aware because we either haven't yet found evidence of it or it too has deteriorated out of existence by this point in time. After all, there were tales of Mu and Atlantis having great technology before they were flooded. Some of it, such as manipulating DNA to make part man/part beast. Is just now being rediscovered by modern scientists. With the burning of the library at Alexandria, much may have been lost. Since it was common practice to burn the libraries of a conquered country, who knows what else may have been lost around the world?

Don't give too much credit to those who claim that the ancients were ignorant goat herders. There is too much evidence to the contrary. While our science may have developed differently, it does not mean that the science of that time was completely invalid. There were amazing discoveries made throughout history. Yes, some scientists were killed and their work destroyed because of religious beliefs but that only proves that there may have been even more science that existed than we are currently aware of. Don't lose faith because someone calls the authors of the bible stupid goat herders. Just realize that their intent is to discredit believers at any cost... even the cost of their own knowledge.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

King James Version (KJV)
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

King James Version (KJV)
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

An end times prophecy from Daniel states this.

Daniel 8:24-25

King James Version (KJV)
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Here it is in the NIV

Daniel 8:24-25

New International Version (NIV)
24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. 25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.

Though Satan and his minions and antichrists will fool many and cause them to prosper here on earth, the Lord will destroy them. We need not worry and we need not be fooled or disillusioned by the claims of those who do not believe. I know this is long, but it gives us much to think about for even with all of the seemingly awesome technology and destructive capability at Satan's hands in this day and time, our God will prevail.

Let us pray as Jesus taught us:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

Although I approach claims about ancient technologies with some caution, I certainly don't think most claims that the authors of the books of the canon were ignorant fools holds water, either.

The different books demonstrate different levels of literacy. Mark might not have been James Joyce, but no one would call John a slouch.

Furthermore, some of the brightest minds of all time have spent their lives examining and thinking about and learning the books of the Bible and have not even come close to learning all there was to know about them.

There are things more important than technology...

You have a great point my friend. It is true, many things don't get seen as they should be. I guess that's why we both sort of got the inspiration for the ideals and truths lost in translation.

Ancient technology does a lot to disprove those from the Bronze Age. It also does a lot to show us that even today we will miss the wisdom of those who have gone before. Technology may look like it's changed a lot, but even the things you and I see today had a beginning. After all, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Katy, I agree. We also have to remember that each author of the books of the Apostles were of a different trade and saw things from a different perspective. Luke, for instance, was a doctor and he would have a different level of education than a fisherman. John was considered Jesus' most beloved. He 'got' what Jesus was saying. Most of the others were still expecting a physical kingdom.

The book of Revelation is looked upon with some scepticism even by biblical scholars because it is known that he was being poisoned while in prison. Still, I suppose we won't know for sure what's true and what is not until some time much later. If there is an afterlife as the bible says, then we will know then.

As far as biblical prophecy coming true in our time, it does seem that a lot of it may be occurring but not all of it has occurred. How much of Jesus' return was figurative for a spiritual meaning or literal for a physical return, I suppose we won't know until after a meteor strikes the earth and poisons the waters. It seems that we're doing a pretty good job of poisoning the waters ourselves.

I also agree that there are things that are much more important than technology. Right now it seems that we have an imbalance in society. People have become so consumed by technology that they've forgot even the most basic social skills. You can't have a conversation with someone in a grocery store, for instance, because they aren't talking to you. They're talking to someone on that bluetooth earpiece that's hidden by their hair. haha

Oh, how do you make it where people can reply to someone else's comment on Blogspot? I don't see such a feature on my page.

The reply thing automatically appeared on my page. I don't know why you don't have it. The advantages are pretty limited, though, especially if you mention everyone by name anyway.

I'll poke around and see if there's a place to change it.
